Gabion mesh is a kind of ecological grid structure. It is a new material structure widely used in transportation, water conservancy, municipal administration, gardening, soil and water conservation and other engineering projects in recent years.
Gabion mesh ecological grid is a mesh made of corrosion-resistant, wear-resistant, high-strength low-carbon high-galvanized steel wire, 5% or 10% aluminum-zinc rare earth alloy coated steel wire (or homogeneous coated polymer steel wire), which is twisted into a hexagonal mesh by a machine. The length of the double-wire hinged part should not be less than 5cm so as not to damage the protective coating of the steel wire. For details, see the industry standard YB/T4221-2016. Ecological grids can be assembled into boxes and cages according to engineering design requirements, and connected into one after being filled with block stones and other filling materials. It is a new technology for projects such as embankments and roadbed protection. The mesh is woven from low-carbon steel wire that has been annealed and hot-dip galvanized or hot-dip 5% or 10% aluminum-zinc rare earth alloy.
In order to ensure that the steel wire is not damaged during the weaving process (other steel wires such as medium, high carbon and alloy steel wires cannot be woven by equipment, and forced weaving will damage the steel wire material and coating, etc.), convenient construction, and reflect its flexibility, the steel wire for weaving ecological grids can only be low-carbon steel wires, and other steel wires must not be used; if a layer of PVC is coated on the surface of low-carbon high galvanized or 5%-10% aluminum-zinc rare earth alloy steel wire (no other polymers can be used), the finished product structure will be more rust-proof, anti-static, anti-aging, corrosion-resistant, high-pressure, high-shear and other characteristics, and can effectively resist the erosion of seawater or highly polluted environments.
